Parlons de la vie

Fragments from July

19. We are greater than the story told about us, more subtle than the perceptions they hold of us. We are not scraps gathered along the way, but the whole story: the one before them, the one of our entire life. And we alone are fit to pass sentence on ourselves. 25. Who knows what will break us free from our ignorance? Sometimes it is a question that forces us to dig until we reach the answer. Sometimes it is someone simple who sees us as great, and whose gaze calls us to rise to it. Everyone matters in everyone’s life… if only we would see it. 31. Generosity is a gift of the soul. A gift of oneself. To know how to give, to want to give, to be able to give in full freedom, in full honesty, without expecting anything in return.

February Fragments: Lightning Thoughts

18. Seeing the glass half empty is just as valid as seeing it half full, but being right is not enough; one must also be happy. While the half-empty view may bring certainties, the half-full perspective brings the risk of seeing roses where crimson may prevail. But the gamble is worth it the rose we thought we saw helps us endure the crimson reality. Being right about impending misfortune is admirable, but who does it benefit? My notebook is pink that's a good start! 20. Take life as it comes, extract the good from each day to turn it into something great. Do good and savor the satisfaction it brings—happiness so rare, yet so grand and accessible!

January Fragments – Fleeting Thoughts

Every morning, I wake up and jot down a few thoughts in my journal. Sometimes trivial, sometimes profound, they stem from a moment lived or the memory of a past experience. Then, on a sticky note, I distill the essence of my reflection into a few phrases: “fragments”.   I had already shared those from November and December. Here are my January fragments. May they find you in the best of spirits. May this year bring you the best of the best and a glimmer of light even in the shadows.   January’s Fragments:  📌 1. Every year carries within it the old soul that judges and the child that dreams. A nostalgia and a hope. A fatalistic lucidity and a fantastic madness.   📌 2. Dear God, may this year be soft and light. This is the prayer of those who refuse to grow up. Dear God, may I adapt to this life—sometimes harsh, sometimes sad, often indifferent. May I find joy, even in adversity.   📌 3. Man carries an eternal ambivalence.   📌 4. I believe in good faith, in willpower, and in progress.
